The Fog of Disinformation: A podcast on the spread of disinformation in the age of social media

With new technology, one click is all it takes to share false information. Misleading content on health or political issues can be spread through various channels, such as podcasts and social media.

Harmful content has pushed educators to devise a plan to put a stop to disinformation.Ìý

Alex Angle

Alex Angle is a multimedia journalist covering Dupont Circle for the Wash. She is currently pursuing her master's in Journalism and Public Affairs at American University. She previously was a TV reporter in Northwest Arkansas.

Daniela Lobo

Daniela Lobo currently covers the Cleveland Park and Cathedral Heights neighborhoods. Prior to ×îÐÂÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, she worked as a content producer at NBC10 Boston and Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra. Daniela is currently pursuing her masters's degree in journalism and public affairs at American University.

Julia Mouketo

Julia is a reporter for ×îÐÂÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ covering the Tenleytown and Friendship Heights area. She is a graduate student at American University. Prior to ×îÐÂÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, she worked for The Roanoke Times and Cardinal News.

Lauren Spiers

Before pursuing my master’s in journalism from AU, I interned at WTVR-CBS 6 where I wrote scripts and worked on the assignment desk. I developed TV news packages as a broadcast reporter at VCU. My articles were published in the blog and magazine at non-profit The Borgen Project.

Nicole Wiley

Nicole Wiley is a graduate student in the Journalism and Public Affairs program. She received her BA in International Studies and a German translation certificate from American University. She is from southeast Tennessee and loves spending time in nature and writing poetry.
