Comment on Far from the holiday crowds, this Smithsonian museum doesn’t mind the quiet by Loni /2024/05/27/far-from-the-holiday-crowds-this-smithsonian-museum-doesnt-mind-the-quiet/#comment-38873 Thu, 09 Jul 2026 21:55:54 +0000 /?p=18445#comment-38873 I was born and raised in NW DC grew up in public housing and I never heard of this museum. School trips would include the museums on the mall only. I later lived in the Anacostia area for about 2 years in 92-94 and I still never heard word of the museum. Go figure… Now I live in Fort Worth TX and my book club is planning a trip to DC in Sept and I was searching for things to do and found the information about this museum. Maybe my group would be interested in visiting.

Comment on DC Initiative 81 passes, making psychedelic therapies accessible by William White /2020/11/03/dc-initiative-81-passes-making-psychedelic-therapies-accessible/#comment-37724 Sat, 06 Jun 2026 18:15:25 +0000 /?p=8899#comment-37724 That 2014 Johns Hopkins study on psilocybin helping long-term smokers quit is wild — 80% success after just one or two doses really puts the potential of these therapies in perspective. with no challenger for the seat. Both Blackson and Vann-Ghasri are concern on how DCHA uses funds for youths on the lease in public housing. Commissioner Buridge joins these two.

Vann-Ghasri, recommending programs in our recreation rooms for Toddlers. Abeena Disroe, was a model for Vann-Ghasri by doing story book telling with toddlers. ABEENA would ask their names and the characters were the toddlers . We was hoping to see this model throughout DCHA communities.

For some reason our Chairman and Directors refuses to CAPACITY BUILD. This is one of many weak areas .
